Stilled Arrangements
August 30, 2025 - September 5, 2025
Opening: Saturday 30th of August 2025 4PM - 6PM
Artspace Warehouse is pleased to present Stilled Arrangements, a group exhibition that explores how form, space, and structure can hold meaning through intentional composition featuring artworks by Darwin Estacio Martinez, Will Beger, Danny Brown, Mike Gough, and Julie Naima.
Stilled Arrangements presents artworks shaped by intention. Each piece reflects a process of refinement—forms are reduced, color is purposeful, and composition takes priority.
The exhibition focuses on how artworks hold space. Every element feels measured. Edges define shape. Negative space creates tension. What’s included matters as much as what’s left out.
The artists approach different subjects yes still share a common sensibility. They build images through clarity, not complexity. The result is a group of works that feel poised, balanced, and fully present.
Darwin Estacio Martinez paints stylized figures that communicate through posture, color, and symbolic detail. Fragmented forms and flattened spaces guide the viewer toward subtle narratives built from universal cues. His use of compositional precision brings a sense of structure and quiet tension to each scene. Martinez’s work has been exhibited internationally and often reflects themes of identity and memory shaped by his Cuban heritage.
Will Beger constructs landscape-inspired works through architectural logic and rhythmic repetition. Layers of color and defined shapes suggest environments without describing them literally. His approach favors harmony and balance, creating compositions that are grounded in form and movement. Beger draws inspiration from the Southwestern desert, translating its light, structure, and spatial tension into carefully composed visual forms.
Danny Brown brings a graphic edge to figuration, drawing from pop culture, street aesthetics, and visual memory. Blocks of color, outlined forms, and unshaded surfaces create bold compositions that feel both playful and composed. His work captures a sense of immediacy through visual clarity. Brown is a Los Angeles-based artist with a background in graffiti and street art. His practice bridges fine art and urban culture, and his work has been exhibited throughout California.
Mike Gough offers quiet reflections on memory and place. Reduced silhouettes, softened transitions, and intentional emptiness give his paintings a meditative quality. His compositions use simplicity as a tool to create emotional openness and spatial calm. Gough holds an MFA from Central Saint Martins in London, and his work has been featured in exhibitions across Canada and internationally.
Julie Naima explores organic forms through gentle repetition and tonal harmony. Rounded shapes and muted palettes are arranged with care, inviting a slower engagement with surface and structure. Her work evokes a sense of calm through thoughtful reduction. Naima is a Canadian artist whose process-driven practice is rooted in material experimentation and layered abstraction.
Stilled Arrangements will be on view at Artspace Warehouse from August 30th through September 5th, 2025.
