Darwin Estacio Martinez was born in 1982, in Manzanillo, Cuba. He is a graduate of the Professional Academy of Fine Arts "El Alba" in Holguin, Cuba, and went on to graduate from the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana. He is currently a professor at the National Fine Arts Academy (San Alejandro) and at the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana.This unique 59 inch high by 47 inch wide painting is an oil paint composition on canvas. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. This figurative artwork is signed by the artist on the back of the artwork. The sides are unpainted and it does not require framing. Darwin Estacio Martinez is a contemporary Cuban artist known for figurative paintings that combine bold color, layered textures, and dreamlike imagery. Born in Manzanillo, Cuba, Martinez earned a BFA from the Professional Academy of Fine Arts “El Alba” and an MFA from the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana.
His paintings explore identity, memory, and social commentary through fragmented narratives, symbolic imagery, and figures suspended in ambiguous settings. Martinez has exhibited internationally in the United States, China, and South Korea, including the Dafen International Biennale and CICA Museum, and has been featured in ArtScene and Cutting Edge: 100 Cuban Artists.
