Soren Grau is an artist from Denmark who has lived and worked in Los Angeles for the past 12 years. He paints in a street art-inspired Neo-expressionist style inspired by artists such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Rather than focusing on mainstream art-house, Soren’s work instead engages the viewer with color and symbolism.
“Whatever an artist does, they put a piece of their soul into the artwork,” explains Grau. “In that way you can show who you really are. You can make yourself individual by creating something unique that is a part of you but that can also be a part of those who see it and experience it.”
Soren, who is a self-taught artist, has during his lifelong career won numerous industry awards for his aesthetically pleasing style, graphics and colors. His artworks are represented by Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles and have been collected by international companies, including Red Bull, HBO, Toyota, and FX (Fox), as well as by private art lovers.

Painting each original artwork to convey both personal meaning and ambiguity, Soren Grau works in two radically different styles: Neo-Expressionism and Suprematism. For his Neo-Expressionist work, Grau cites Jackson Pollock, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Clyfford Still as inspirations in both style and attitude.
With cultural icons and world events often acting as inspiration, he strives to communicate meaning through both figures and colors. Grau, speaking about his neo-expressionist works, says “I know what I have set out to do but the details that come out in the canvas are an obscured vision of the subject…”
Originating from Denmark, Grau currently lives in Los Angeles, California. His experience in graphic design informs his compositions and methodology. Grau considers himself an anti-conformist and finds joy in creating his open-ended creative expressions on canvas.
Soren Grau’s artworks have been collected by international companies, including Red Bull, HBO, Toyota, and FX, as well as by private art lovers worldwide.
