About

Coulombe-Bégin creates dynamic, highly textured paintings that explore identity, emotion, and the human experience. Contrasting colors, spontaneous gestures, and layered materials bring exuberance and movement to her contemporary artworks. Influenced by street art, her practice moves between abstraction and surrealism, drawing recurring inspiration from the body and the universally recognizable symbol of the heart.

This original painting depicting one heart painted on a silver-white background measures 12 inches square. The thickly textured heart is applied with tactile brushwork. It is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. Convenient local Los Angeles area shipping. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping also available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.

Coulombe-Bégin’s subjects range from colorful hearts to closely cropped depictions of the human body, particularly the eyes and mouth. Bold contrasts, chiaroscuro, drips, and gestural marks transform these familiar forms into expressive compositions filled with movement and symbolism. Her fragmented figures reflect an ongoing interest in self-perception, consciousness, and the relationship between the physical body and inner identity.

Born in Miami and raised in Quebec City, Coulombe-Bégin earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Laval University in 2006. Her early exposure to both art and athletics helped shape a physical and instinctive approach to creative expression.

“I am particularly interested in the fragmented corporal shell, which I emphasize through spontaneous movement and vivid colors,” Coulombe-Bégin explains. “My experience with painting has led me to see things differently, to self-discovery and to great astonishment.”

Coulombe-Bégin's works have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including Canada, the United States, Europe, South America, and Australia.
