Cynthia Coulombe-Bégin
Born in Miami and raised in Quebec City, Cynthia Coulombe-Bégin earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Laval University in 2006. Her early exposure to both art and athletics helped shape a practice centered on movement, identity, and self-expression.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Coulombe-Bégin creates energetic paintings defined by vivid color, layered surfaces, and bold contrasts. Influenced by street art, her work moves between abstraction and surrealism, drawing on themes of body image, human connection, and the recurring symbol of the heart.
Coulombe-Bégin began her professional career with the solo exhibition Traces Corporelles at the Marius Barbeau Museum in 2006. Her work has since been exhibited in Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Quebec and is held in private collections worldwide.
