Rachel Taggart

Rachel Taggart is a Canadian contemporary artist whose paintings explore light, color, transparency, and depth through layered acrylic compositions. Working with diluted acrylic on raw canvas, she creates abstract works that balance openness and structure, allowing color, line, and form to develop through a refined sense of movement and restraint.

Originally trained in Biology and Education, Taggart began painting in 2001 after years of creative exploration through sewing, stained glass, building projects, and other hands-on practices.
