About
Harrison Gilman's large original artworks begin with a layer of fast-paced gestural abstraction followed by organic shapes and geometric structures. Some of his paintings remain in the purely dreamlike abstract stage, while others develop into deliberate characters, shapes, and symbols. They are landscapes and portraits of the artist's subconscious, developed into individual stories on canvas.

Gilman's paintings reveal the freedom to trust one's instincts. They offer the viewer a chance to interpret their own truth about what they are seeing in his artworks. "It’s so easy to get caught up in the material world and all the distractions and what we think we’re feeling and what we should be feeling versus whatever is actually going on." With a set of straight and curved lines, he builds a mysterious haze of inner feelings on canvas in a balanced and harmonious way.
