About

Victoria Kovalenchikova’s abstract artworks are an outlook at the transformation of the world surrounding us; a shout in the cold infinity of cosmos. It is an attempt to understand the impact of people on the planet through the language of art. Using google images to explore the Earth in its entirety, she plays with angles and textures to create works that appreciate and bring attention to the uniqueness of our planet.

The contemporary trend in her paintings is characterized by a figurative integration of abstract elements. Creatively mixing media from cement, oil, and epoxy resin on stretched canvas, Victoria’s work is simultaneously sculpture and painting.

The variegated surface of this 16 inch high and 12 inch wide textural painting is covered with a shiny layer of crystalline, glass-like resin, which enhances the colors and adds depth. Sculptural topographical elements protrude beyond the smoother parts of the artwork. The sides are finished as a textural continuation of the front, adding more layers and detailing. Each panel is painted and finished on all sides and can be installed individually. The artwork is signed, titled, and dated on the back by the artist. It does not require framing and is wired and ready to hang. Convenient delivery within Los Angeles. Affordable US and global shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery is included.

Victoria Kovalenchikova was born in Mogilev, Belarus, and received her degree from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. Her series on the world is immediately familiar, provoking us to step closer and have a better look, then after a few moments, the nuances of her art appear. Her training is evident in her skillful application of textures, provoking a harmonious juxtaposition of elements that humbles our approach to the earth.

Kovalenchikova states, “Although we humans may feel like disconnected, independent fragments, Earth reminds us that we are all united on this place: notes within a larger symphony of life. No different from the massive whale in the ocean or the tiniest needle of a pine tree. There is no way out; to save ourselves we must save our home”

Kovalenchikova's works can be found in private and corporate art collections and museums worldwide; select institutions include the Museum of Russian Art in Jersey City, the Museum of Belarusian State Academy of Arts, the Contemporary Fine Art Museum in Belarus, the Romanov Regional Study of Local Lore Museum, the Belarusian Embassy in Germany and the Netherlands, and other international private collections.

Victoria Kovalenchikova

Victoria Kovalenchikova was born in Mogilev, Belarus in 1978 and in 2002 she received a degree from Belarusian State Academy of Arts.

Kovalenchikova is inspired by the connection between all humans, and in her series, “Earth,” she explores the planet as a work of art. Using google images to explore the Earth in its entirety, she plays with angles and textures. An earlier series focused on the tightly zoomed in areas of urban cities, and the “Earth” series is the antithesis of this micro exploration.

Kovalenchikova states, “Although we humans may feel like disconnected, independent fragments, Earth reminds us that we are all united on this place: notes within a larger symphony of life. No different from the massive whale in the ocean or the tiniest needle of a pine tree. There is no way out; to save ourselves we must save our home.”
