Amanda Immurs

Amanda Immurs, hailing from Hamilton, Canada, grounds her paintings in representation, depicting whimsical scenes of children and animals. Her works capture the innocence of her subjects through careful planning and multiple layers of paint and glaze. Immurs holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from McMaster University and studied textiles at Sheridan College.

Her soft watercolor pieces, often complemented by the subtle details of graphite, feature unusual and whimsical scenes that reflect her deep interest in the innocent nature of her subjects. Through careful planning and the application of several layers of paint, Immurs skillfully captures the unique personalities of her subjects, infusing her paintings with a vivid sense of life.

In 2013, her images were used for banners on Hamilton’s King William Street Artists Walk. She was also chosen to paint a giant soccer ball for the 2015 Pan Am Games and create banners for Canada’s 150th anniversary, displayed in Hamilton’s downtown.

Immurs’ work is featured in collections across Canada and the United States.
