Ilan Leas
Ilan Leas is a New York-born contemporary artist known for intricate abstract drawings and mixed media artworks that combine geometric patterns, graffiti-inspired lines, and spontaneous mark-making. Describing his process as “patternmaking without a pattern,” Leas works intuitively, allowing each composition to develop without preliminary sketches or plans.
Originally working in pen and ink, Leas has expanded his practice to painting and unconventional surfaces, creating densely layered compositions defined by sharp angles and organized chaos. His artwork has been featured in Global Inheritance’s TRASHed project at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and at Sweetgreen locations in New York and Chicago.
