About
Susan Gale's work explores the nostalgia of community by highlighting the juxtaposition between the peaceful, quiet, mystery of light, and the rush of visually invoked sensation. She explores the sensibility that an image evokes through her manipulation of form and surface texture achieved with textured pointillism. Gale works with distinct color palettes which allow for the exaggeration of each painting's elements of color, framing, and thematic components.
This original 30 inch high by 40 inch wide painting is created with acrylic paint on birch panel. By employing rich hues and playful manual pixelation, Gale seeks to investigate the space between abstraction and representation that allows for a rich direct language of mark-making. The sides of this artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. This artwork is signed by the artist on the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Susan Gale was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland in 1977. Susan studied painting at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design from 2000 to 2004 and received her BFA. Susan moved to Toronto in 2005.
