Laura Schuler is a mixed media artist living and working in Los Angeles, California. Her artworks represent an expression of movement and energy that incorporate layers of acrylic paint intersecting with spray paint. She manipulates the paint in innovative ways to create lightness in layers and odes to other media. Through the layering and movement within each of her artworks, her paintings often resemble underwater seascapes. Schuler continuously experiments with colors and shapes that highlight negative space. With her highly gestural process she captures movements that harness iterative physicality and flow.
This large 48 inch tall and 68 inch wide original artwork is stretched, wired and ready to hang. The sides of the artwork are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back of the painting. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable US and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery is included.
Schuler begins each painting with a focus on a singular color which is the basis of an outpouring of spontaneity on canvas. While creating each artwork, she rotates the canvas and views the paintings from various angles in order to create uniquely balanced off-center experiences and stories with paint. Schuler’s artworks have been exhibited and collected throughout the United States, including a major art gallery in Los Angeles, as well as internationally.
