Susan Gale's work explores the nostalgia of community by highlighting the juxtaposition between the peaceful, quiet, mystery of light and the rush of visually invoked sensation. She explores the sensibility that an image evokes through her manipulation of form and surface texture. Gale works with distinct color palettes which allow for the exaggeration of each painting's elements of color, framing, and thematic components. Her practice involves capturing cityscapes or images of everyday places and elevating mundane visual prose into a symphony of color. Gale works the images through a lens of emotion and brings beauty and form back to their most simple compositional elements.
This original 36 inch high by 24 inch wide painting is created with acrylic paint on birch panel. By employing rich hues and playful manual pixilation, Gale seeks to investigate the space between abstraction and representation that allows for a rich direct language of mark-making. The sides of this artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. This artwork is signed by the artist on the back. It is wired and ready to hang. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and global shipping are also available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
