About

Stéphanie Rivet's colorful abstract paintings are inspired by nature and the excitement of the unknown: ‘’Working in an abstract style allows me to use my creativity freely. For me, creativity is to accept the unknown, to welcome the unexpected as an opportunity, and to not be afraid of failure. Believing that the result will be even more beautiful than what I had originally planned, encourages me to make exciting discoveries".

Rivet applies the paint to the canvas entirely with a palette knife, often mixing bright colors directly onto the canvas and letting them blend naturally. This method promotes spontaneity, and allows her to be guided by intuition as the artwork begins to organically take shape.

This original colorful and textural painting is 60 inches high by 40 inches wide. Rivet's application of paint is not limited to the brightest sections of the painting. Her work contains textures all across the canvas, allowing subtle areas of texture to provide a sense of calm in the storm of color. This vibrant painting is stretched, wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted white by the artist, and it does not require framing. It is signed by the artist on the front lower right corner. Free local Los Angeles area delivery and installation, including placement and hardware. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery is included.

Stéphanie Rivet was born in Montreal in 1972. She displayed a strong interest for painting at a very young age, but she also had an interest for science and mathematics. After studying mathematics, she redirected her studies and obtained a Fine Arts degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Since 1998, her work has been exhibited in art galleries internationally. The desire to create full‐time appeared as a revelation. In 2008, she left teaching mathematics to devote herself entirely to her art.

Stéphanie Rivet has presented her work in various galleries and cultural centers all across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Her paintings are exhibited in private and corporate collections worldwide.

Stéphanie Rivet was born in Montreal in 1972. She displayed a strong interest for the arts and painting at a very young age, but she also had an interest in everything related to sciences and mathematics. After studying mathematics, she redirected her studies and obtained a Fine Arts degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Since 1998, she has exhibited her paintings in several art galleries. In 2008, she left teaching mathematics to devote herself entirely to her art.

Rivet’s works are inspired by nature, and her paintings are mainly abstract. ‘’Working in an abstract style allows me to use my creativity freely,” she says of her work. “For me, creativity is to accept the unknown, to welcome the unexpected as an opportunity, and to not be afraid of failure. Believing that the result will be even more beautiful than what I had originally planned, encourages me to make exciting discoveries.” She applies the paint entirely with a palette knife, often mixing the color directly on the canvas.
