Toronto-born artist Pete Kasprzak brings a strong foundation in visual communication to his mixed-media practice. After graduating in Advertising and Communications from Mohawk College in Hamilton, he developed his creative direction and design experience through roles at the college and later as a Senior Graphic Designer at Dot & Dash. His commercial work included projects for Holt Renfrew, Coca-Cola’s FUZE, Calvin Klein, The Bay, Gwen Stefani, and Shania Twain.
Kasprzak is recognized for energetic cityscapes that combine original photography with expressive applications of oil and acrylic paint. By layering painted gestures over photographic imagery, he transforms familiar urban settings into vivid compositions shaped by movement, texture, and atmosphere. His work captures the pace and character of city life while retaining a distinctly painterly quality.
His work has attracted collectors and media attention throughout Canada and the United States. Kasprzak received the People’s Choice Award at The Artist Project Toronto, one of North America’s largest contemporary art shows. His artworks are held in notable private and corporate collections and have been associated with figures across music, film, sports, and entertainment. Collaborative projects have also connected his work with subjects including Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie, Mötley Crüe, the Beastie Boys, Zakk Wylde, John 5, Lil’ Kim, and Daughtry.
Now based in Los Angeles, Kasprzak continues to photograph the city’s architecture, landmarks, streets, and cultural spaces. These images become the foundation for original artworks that reflect his ongoing interest in urban identity and the visual energy of contemporary life.
“Every artwork I create is unique and portrays a symbolic visual of the urban culture I see. I give my photographs depth and movement with carefully chosen brush strokes lying on top of them.”
