Reuter received her BFA from Iowa State University and continued her studies at the Royal College of Art in London, grounding her practice in both formal design and material innovation. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with pieces held in prominent corporate and private collections in the United States, France, and Morocco. Her work is featured in collections such as The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, The Ritz-Carlton in Chicago, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Lincoln Financial Group, and the Fairmont Rabat Hotel. Her work has appeared in publications such as Modern Luxury Interiors, ArtDose Magazine, and Studio Visit Magazine.
The interplay of light is central to her practice. By separating each layer with intentional
spaces of air, Reuter creates dimensional reliefs that cast evolving
shadows—lines, silhouettes, and soft gradients that change as the viewer moves.
This gentle motion blurs the line between drawing and sculpture, giving the
work a sense of continuous transformation. She intends to honor the handmade
while encouraging viewers to slow their gaze, creating a spatial experience
defined by delicacy, rhythm, and quiet definition.
Throughout her career, Krista Reuter has developed a distinctive visual language—one that
elevates paper to an expressive, sculptural medium. Her work celebrates the
beauty of the handmade, the poetry of light, and the quiet power of form,
inviting viewers into a contemplative encounter with movement, space, and shadow.
